Location Safety
During in-person meetings, every effort will be made to make sure everyone attending feels safe and welcome. Confidentiality and respect for each other’s boundaries are prioritized and everyone is held accountable for their actions.
Confidentiality
Scaffolding requires confidentiality everywhere: in meetings, trainings, social functions, and social media. Information gathered for correspondences and connections is kept entirely confidential.
Emergency Contacts
We do not require adult permission for youth to attend AMPLIFY meetings. However, we ask all youth who are in-person to list the contact information of a safe adult in case of an emergency.
Adults Involved in AMPLIFY
Background checks are required for everyone 18 years old and older, including youth who have been involved with AMPLIFY before turning 18. All adults who are connected with youth, whether through AMPLIFY or SAIL, are background checked. We follow these procedures diligently to make sure all are background checked with no preferential treatment. In addition, background checks are redone every 4 years, to ensure we have the most up-to-date information.
There is extensive training and support for Peer Mentors and Adult Advisors.
